Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor

West Thurrock

£45,000 - £60,000 per annum

Pin Point Recruitment are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor for a chemical manufacturing business based in West Thurrock.

The company has been established since 1979 and covers 9 sites across the UK, with the West Thurrock site being the headquarters. They supply both bulk and packed chemicals to a variety of industries including agriculture, water, steel production, energy utilities, pharmaceuticals, and homecare products.

As the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the mechanical maintenance activities on site, while providing leadership, guidance, and direction to the mechanical maintenance team, ensuring projects and work meet quality standards and deadlines.

Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor Job Role:

• Ensure the safety of the Mechanical Technicians.
• Select and issue work to the Mechanical Technicians.
• Plan and schedule mechanical maintenance work.
• Liaise efficiently & safely with the Operations team and other maintenance personnel.
• Control all mechanical maintenance activities on site using personnel efficiently.
• Follow procedures in the management system to ensure compliance with all standards for the site.
• Complete all routine checks following the preventative maintenance schedules.
• Work on asset breakdowns as identified.
• Source and order parts and tools as required.
• Provide daily supervision to the Mechanical Technicians.
• Maintain an efficient operation with the mechanical maintenance team.
• Ensure adequate risk assessments and safe systems of work are completed for all activities.
• Complete all duties as an Authorised Person on site within the Permit to Work system.
• Help develop and follow the preventative maintenance program for the site.
• Follow a rigorous inspection program for all equipment on site.

Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor Skills Required:

• Vast experience working in a heavy industrial environment within a mechanical maintenance role.
• Experience working within a COMAH site is beneficial.
• IOSH Certification.
• Familiarity with the following regulations is an advantage:
  • PSSR (Pressure System Safety Regulations).
  • LOLAH (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations).
  • PUWER (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations).
• Experience managing PPM documentation.
