Qualifications

Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Job Working pattern: Days, 530am - 2pm, 40-hour week, Monday to Friday

Location: Castle Donnington area

Working onsite within a small engineering team

Type: Permanent

Industry: SME General Manufacturing site with a rich history

Our client is a manufacturer with a longstanding footprint. It is an established site with an established LONG SERVING engineering team. Staff retention is excellent. Key Responsibilities - Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - Days Monday to Friday

Your new challenge will be providing effective and efficient planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance to minimise losses to production.

  1. Ensure the continuous running of the production process by eliminating downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault finding and maintenance of equipment.
  2. Planned and reactive maintenance to keep downtime to a minimum.
  3. Work with a variety of process and manufacturing machinery, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and general mechanical fitting.
  4. Fault-finding to fabrication.
  5. Leading electrical and instrumentation, repair, and working with CMMS.
  6. Diagnosis, resolution, and elimination of root causes of mechanical engineering faults.
  7. Implementation of minor equipment modifications in support of increased performance.
  8. Completion of all scheduled, planned corrective, reactive and improvement maintenance as allocated.
  9. Contribute to the planning and implementation of allocated annual equipment overhauls.
Qualifications & Requirements - Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - Days Monday to Friday
  1. Apprentice trained or NVQ level 3 in a mechanical engineering discipline in maintenance engineering.
  2. Plastics, process, CNC, tooling, general manufacturing would be ideal.
  3. Manufacturing Industry experience ideal, heavy, medium or FMCG environments considered - more about the transferable skills and culture fit.
  4. Knowledge of conveyor belts, drives, gearboxes and couplings general mechanical equipment.
  5. Knowledge of Hydraulic & Pneumatic systems is essential.
  6. Routine Preventative Maintenance so an understanding of a PPM schedule.
  7. Finding and fixing faults quickly and effectively.
  8. Basic welding and fabrication skills advantageous.
  9. Fitting, Fabricating and Welding experience preferred.
  10. A proactive approach to fault finding, a commitment to continuous improvement and personal development.
