My client has been successfully manufacturing for years in Birmingham and manufactures specialist metals including ingot, slab, coil, bar, sheet, and more. They supply mainly to the Aerospace industry among other industrial sectors. The types of machines you will be working on daily will be large industrial machines such as die-presses, vacuum/arc furnaces, plasma welders, and machine shop equipment including lathes, millers, and turners, as well as other machinery associated with the heavy industry. Good hydraulic experience is required for this position. You will also be working with conveyors, cylinders, gearboxes, and more. Fabricating experience is advantageous for this position.

Experience Required for the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer:

• 5+ years experience working as a mechanical maintenance engineer ideally within heavy industry
• Ideally level 3 and apprenticeship served, but would also consider level 2 if experience is within a similar environment
• MUST have experience with hydraulics, gearboxes, conveyors, and cylinders
• Ideally able to fabricate/weld
