Job description

Mechanical Fitter
Rate: £22-£25 p/h DOE (Outside IR35)
Location: Wigan
Initial 3-Month Rolling Contract

Monday-Friday (Days)

Our client is a well-established and respected name in bespoke material handling solutions, as they continue to expand across sectors like automotive and aerospace. This is a long-term opportunity on a variety of exciting installation projects.

Role Overview:
You'll be involved in both workshop assembly and onsite installation of complex systems including conveyor lines, vacuum lifters, overhead cranes, and gantries.

Day-to-Day Duties Include:

  1. Mechanical fitting & assembly in the workshop
  2. On-site mechanical installations across the UK
  3. Mix of workshop (50%) and site work (50%)
  4. Working on conveyors, overhead cranes, and manual handling equipment

What We're Looking For:
  1. Time-served mechanical fitter or similar background
  2. Experience with conveyors, overhead cranes, and manual handling equipment
  3. Comfortable working across various locations and staying away when needed
  4. A proactive team player with good attention to detail
  5. Flexible to travel to site
  6. Manufacturing background preferred

Shift Details:
  1. Standard Workshop hours: Mon-Fri, 7:30am-4pm (39 hrs/week)
  2. Accommodation and travel paid for when working away
  3. Weekend work available depending on the project
  4. Long-term contract potential - lots of ongoing work
  5. Diverse project exposure across sectors
