Job Description

MECHANICAL FITTER: LIVERPOOL. FANTASTIC GROWING COMPANY, DAYS ROLE PLUS BENEFITS. £37-42K SALARY PLUS BENEFITS.

The Company
Our client is a well-established provider of specialist engineering services and products to the pharmaceutical, life science, and process industries. Their highly skilled engineering team collaborates with clients and adapts to their needs to achieve successful outcomes.

The Role
To work on projects from mechanical handover through to completion of build (including installations at client sites). As part of the Mechanical Assembly team, you will be responsible for the assembly and fitting of mechanical components for bespoke process equipment, including pressure vessels and rotating equipment (e.g., agitators, gearboxes, motors) coupled with knowledge/experience in hydraulic systems.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Control and ownership of mechanical build documentation.
  2. Mechanical component assembly and fitting in-line with tight tolerances, such as limits and fits, shaft clearances, etc.
  3. Work collaboratively within a multi-skilled team and alongside Electrical/Control engineers to ensure completion of the equipment build.
  4. Liaise with engineering in the resolution of problems relating to fit, function, or design.
  5. Inspection of mechanical parts, fabrications, and pressure vessels at supplier facilities.
  6. Work in a safe manner, ensuring H&S requirements are met.
  7. Reporting of non-conformances via the quality systems in place.
  8. Support the Production team in daily activities and provide regular contract updates.
  9. Support in off-site installations at customer sites.

Qualifications/Skills/Experience

  1. Time served mechanical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
  2. Experience within a similar role.
  3. Pressure vessel testing experience (desirable).
  4. Keen eye for detail.
  5. Problem solving.
  6. Excellent communication skills.
  7. Ability to read and understand assembly drawings.
