Role: Mechanical Fitter

Location: Ipswich, Suffolk

Hours: 37.5 hours

Pay: £15ph

We are looking for a skilled fitter who has a strong knowledge of hydraulic systems. This role is with a well-established engineering firm operating in Ipswich for over 100 years!

To be considered for this position, you need to have a mechanical fitting background, ideally with a good understanding of hydraulic systems and be competent in mechanical assembly. You will be expected to work independently and must be able to read engineering (CAD) drawings.

You will be working on heavier plant equipment, primarily used within the construction industry.

Fitter duties include:

1. Assembly of plant equipment
2. Ensuring all equipment and parts are washed down and cleaned prior to fitting
3. Testing the products after assembly to ensure the highest level of quality standards are met
4. Reading and working from engineering drawings (CAD)
5. MUST be flexible and willing to assist and work in other departments as and when required

Ideally, you will have a background in mechanical fitting or a similar discipline. We may consider applicants who have worked in an assembly capacity and offer further training as mechanical engineers.

37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday. Any overtime is paid at increased rates of pay!

This is a permanent position subject to a successful 3-month probation period.
