Job description

ROLE - Mechanical Fitter

SALARY - £27,000 to £29,000, dependent on experience

TYPE - Permanent

LOCATION - Blackburn

My client is a specialist manufacturer with containment units. They are looking for a Mechanical Fitter to join their team in Blackburn on a permanent basis.

Attributes of the Mechanical Fitter:
  1. Industry experience ideally working in a hands-on fitting/manufacture/assembly role
  2. Able to read and work to technical drawings
  3. Proficiency with CAD software - ideally SolidWorks or similar
  4. Basic understanding of electrical systems
  5. Good mathematical and general engineering knowledge
  6. Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials - sheet metal, castings, machining etc.
  7. Be technically minded and proactive, with a head for problem solving
  8. Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail
  9. Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Responsibilities of the Mechanical Fitter:
  1. Mechanical assembly of various products and machines
  2. Working to company standards for test and repair
  3. Maintaining equipment and machinery
  4. Performing development activities and finding new mechanical solutions
  5. Being involved in the product design and development process using CAD
  6. Producing the relevant documentation that is required
  7. Driving continuous improvement
