Mechanical Biased Leading Hand/Supervisor - Locomotive Maintenance
Location: Loughborough, Leicestershire
Salary: £42,500 per annum + shift allowance + O/T

Shifts: 2-shift system (Mornings/Afternoons) - Monday to Friday

About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Biased Leading Hand/Supervisor to join our team, ensuring the efficient maintenance and preparation of locomotives. This role requires a hands-on approach, with 80% of your time spent on the shop floor conducting fitness to run checks, brake testing, and fuel point preparation, while 20% will be focused on supervision and delivering key performance indicators (KPIs).

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform fitness to run, brake testing, and fuel point preparation on locomotives.
  2. Lead and supervise a team, ensuring high standards of work and safety compliance.
  3. Oversee and deliver the 5 main KPIs to drive performance and efficiency.
  4. Support and mentor team members, ensuring best practices and high-quality output.
  5. Maintain accurate records and ensure all work is completed to industry standards.
What We're Looking For:
  1. Strong mechanical background, ideally within the rail industry.
  2. Experience in locomotive maintenance, including brake systems and fuel preparation.
  3. Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
  4. Willingness to work a rotating 2-shift system (mornings, afternoons).
  5. Commitment to health and safety protocols and industry regulations.
