Job description

Mechanical Engineer Surveyor / Inspection Engineer
Home / Field based. You can live anywhere in West Scotland from Glasgow northwards.
Salary: circa £40,000 + car + pension + expenses + benefits + training.
Hours: Mon - Fri daytime.

Experience:

  1. Must have hands-on experience with lifting & handling equipment & machinery, materials handling, mechanical handling, overhead cranes, etc.
  2. NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering discipline.
  3. Ex Forces background can be ideal but not essential - Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers (REME), RAF, Army, Navy, Marine Engineer.

Duties:

  1. Home-based, carry out surveys and inspections on a wide range of industrial, commercial, and manufacturing plant and machinery.
  2. Ensure equipment is safe and fit for use & complies with legislation (LOLER, PUWER, PSSR, COSHH).
  3. Write / complete reports.
  4. You will be assigned work / companies to visit in your region.
