ABOUT THE JOB:
As the Mechanical Engineer - Power & Infrastructure, you'll perform the following:
- Mechanical System Design & Analysis – Develop engineering designs, calculations, and performance analyses for mechanical systems, including power, heat recovery, boilers, cooling systems, and pumping networks.
- Equipment Selection & Specification – Select and specify key mechanical components such as industrial turbines, internal combustion engines, cooling infrastructure, piping, and control valves.
- 3D Modeling & Technical Drawings – Utilize AutoCAD (Revit experience a plus) to generate accurate 2D/3D models and review mechanical plans for code compliance.
- Project Support & Leadership – Serve as Engineer of Record, collaborate with Project Managers on staffing, proposals, and client engagement.
- Field & Construction Support – Conduct on-site evaluations, pre-bid meetings, and construction oversight to ensure project execution aligns with design intent.
- Regulatory Compliance & Standards – Ensure adherence to ASME VIII, ASME B31.1, B31.3, NFPA, and other relevant engineering standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Expertise in Mechanical Systems – In-depth knowledge of chilled water systems, industrial turbines, heat recovery, pumping networks, cooling operations, and power plant functionality.
- Proficiency in Engineering Software – Hands-on experience with AutoCAD (Revit/BIM a plus).
- Industry Standards & Compliance – Familiarity with ASME, NFPA, and federal/state engineering regulations.
- Project Management & Execution – Ability to multitask, manage timelines, and seamlessly shift between projects while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Technical Communication & Documentation – Strong skills in report writing, client presentations, and cross-team collaboration.
- Professional Licensure – Must hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Additional Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
- 5-7 years of experience in mechanical engineering for power, central utility plants, or combined heat and power systems
- Experience with AutoCAD or Revit and Building Information Modeling (BIM)
