We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineer to join our team.

Position Overview:

The Mechanical Engineer will play a key role in the specification, design, development, and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment both in our depot and on tunnelling/construction sites around the UK. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with a focus on construction/tunnelling, or agricultural engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Direct liaison with site-based clients to understand their needs, including site visits as required.
  2. Work closely with our team of engineers to produce practical solutions for our clients.
  3. Produce technical and commercial offers for clients.
  4. Produce engineering designs, in compliance with UK regulations/standards.
  5. Analyse equipment performance to allow improvements to be made if needed.
  6. Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
  7. Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to site-based clients.
  8. Ensure all designs and systems adhere to UK regulations and industry standards.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in a construction-related industry.
  3. Proficient in CAD software and other engineering tools.
  4. Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials, and processes.
  5. Knowledge of UK regulations and standards related to the equipment (Pressure Systems, LOLER, PUWER etc.)
  6. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  7. Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  8. Strong teamwork skills.
