Our leading manufacturing client in the Huntingdonshire area is looking for a dynamic Mechanical Engineer to join their team. This is a permanent position for a great company. The work will be very varied from maintenance, design, cost saving, time saving, NPD, and NPI projects. If you are a hands-on Mechanical Engineer, this post could be perfect for you.

As a Mechanical Engineer you will:

1. Identify, install, and commission new plant and equipment to meet the businesses changing product and process needs.
2. Drive process and component quality improvements to improve manufacturing FTPR (First Time Pass Rate).
3. Assess components and processes to identify causes of failure and provide feedback into Engineering, Manufacturing, and Suppliers.
4. Support NPD/NPI projects.
5. Support improvements of internal process yield and external quality PPM by the design and implementation of tooling, jigs, fixtures, test equipment, and improved processes.
6. Drive Lean Manufacturing principles.
7. Lead Manufacturing Engineering projects as required.
8. Support change initiatives in manufacturing.

The Mechanical Engineer Experience will include:

1. 3+ years in a manufacturing/operations/engineering role.
2. A demonstrated ability to design and create mechanical solutions.
3. Evidence of excellent practical skills, including basic fault finding.
4. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
5. An understanding of electrical engineering principles and/or electronics would be beneficial.

Hours of work for the Mechanical Engineer:
Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5.30pm, Friday 8.30am to 2.00pm (37.5 hours)
