Mechanical Engineer

WORKSHOP ENGINEER (MECHANICAL BIAS) PERMANENT OPPORTUNITY, MONDAY TO FRIDAY WORKING 0800 - 1600 £32,000 P.A STARTING SALARY + OVERTIME

Our client is a well-established business based in Kettering who are offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced mechanical engineer to join their team. You will be working in a workshop which also doubles as the company showroom.

Working in a team of 5 engineers and 2 apprentices, you will be a skilled mechanical bias engineer who has previously worked within a manufacturing role. You will have a strong mechanical mindset, be passionate about working with machinery, and be proactive with problem-solving.

The Role

• Working with various types of machinery including Lathes, Mills, Grinders, Drills, and CNC Machinery.
• Manufacture replacement parts as and when required.
• Perform fault finding and regular maintenance on machinery.
• Perform inspection checks to meet quality standards.
• Carry out MIG Welding and the Fabrication of parts when required.
• Assemble, install and maintain machinery to high standards.
• Perform diagnostic checks and repairs on mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Sometimes going out on site with service engineers to look at machinery at their client premises.

Experience & Requirements

• A qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
• A strong mechanical mindset and passion for engineering.
• Ability to operate manual machinery.
• A keen eye for detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• The ability to MIG Weld.
• The ability to perform basic electrical tasks such as wiring and testing.
• Needs to have a full UK Driving licence.
