The RoleAs a Mechanical Designer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll provide support to EDF to enhance the lifetime of the power station and represent Cavendish Nuclear.
Day-to-day, you’ll provide office support within the station drawing office, including creating and amending station drawings as per engineer requirements.
The role is part of the Cavendish Nuclear site team at Torness Power Station working for the Site Manager, albeit embedded within the client (EDF) organization where the individual will report day to day to the client.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare & produce drawings throughout the design lifecycle and in line with recognized ISO standards to the required time, cost, and quality requirements.
- Promote effective cooperation across Design and other functional teams.
- Prepare, produce, and maintain project documentation as required by the design lifecycle, produce and update ‘as built’/datum pack documentation.
- Liaise with colleagues and stakeholders during the design lifecycle to ensure coordination and functionality of design, including contribution to design reviews.
- Develop innovative design solutions and solutions to manufacturing and installation issues by assisting in the resolution of Production and Technical Queries.
Essential Experience:- Experience with AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools.
- Knowledge of General Engineering Drawing Practice.
- Incorporated Engineer status.
- Integrated Competency Framework (ICF) to be demonstrated or being worked towards.
- Communication skills and the ability to interface with other disciplines.
Qualifications:- ONC/HNC/HND (or equivalent) OR BTEC National Certificate/Diploma (or equivalent) OR appropriate apprenticeship of specialization.
Security Clearance:The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) security clearance for this role.
