Mechanical Design/ Project Engineer

We are looking for a motivated lead mechanical projects/design engineer to join a market leading company in their respective field. Reporting directly to the engineering manager you will be a key member in ensuring the production facility is kept running. With progressive training and development this company is always looking to enhance its employees and their skill sets, whilst additionally being supported by a welcoming team of engineers. The position will appeal to a strong project/ design engineer looking for their next challenging role within a secure and stable company.

1. Manage and oversee mechanical-biased projects from initiation to completion.
2. Provide technical support and guidance on mechanical aspects of projects.
3. Conduct engineering design for mechanical systems and components.
4. Develop and implement maintenance strategies, procedures, and methods.
5. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
6. Participate in Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOPs) to identify and mitigate potential risks.
7. Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues in a timely manner.
8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support plant operations and improvement projects.
9. Manage and oversee contractors and vendors for mechanical work.
10. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.

1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
2. Proven engineering and maintenance experience in a chemical, pharmaceutical, or petrochemical plant, particularly on a COMAH site.
