Job Description

We have a new opportunity to be part of our Transmission team in the role of Mechanical Design Engineer - Transmission.

You will be responsible for:

  1. Creating design schemes from concept stage for mechanical components.
  2. Producing detailed drawings to facilitate the manufacturing of these components.
  3. Providing follow-up support during the assembly, testing, and development phases.
  4. Developing practical solutions to resolve issues arising from testing and development.
  5. Actively contributing to design concept development and continuous improvements.
  6. Attending and participating in team meetings and technical discussions.
  7. Keeping up to date with Formula 1 regulations and industry standards.

What you will need to be successful in this role:

  1. Relevant mechanical design experience in a motorsport environment, ideally in Formula 1.
  2. Proficiency in 3D CAD systems, preferably CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE.
  3. Experience producing high-level design schemes and detailed drawings of complex assemblies under tight deadlines.
  4. Engineering degree or equivalent in a mechanical engineering discipline.
  5. A creative and flexible approach to problem-solving and adapting to new challenges.
  6. A strong analytical mindset throughout all stages of the design process.
  7. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  8. The ability to work calmly and confidently under pressure to meet deadlines.
  9. A self-motivated, enthusiastic, and adaptable attitude.
  10. Commitment to teamwork and the ability to work effectively in a fast-changing environment.
  11. A solid understanding of and commitment to Health & Safety best practices.

This is a full-time office-based role based at our campus in Silverstone, with additional requirement to travel to other locations where necessary.
