Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

I am seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for an established automotive engineering company. This is a contract role outside IR35.

They are part of a growing successful business operating in the supply of automotive components for a range of commercial engines. They provide design and development services for other sister companies within the engine products division being a global supplier/market leader in their field.

What You Will Do

1. Assist in the design of a range of engine ancillaries including oil, water, and fuel pumps.
2. Work from first principles in concept design work utilizing problem-solving skills.
3. Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure design is optimized for manufacture.
4. Liaise with the design team and Chief Engineer to resolve design issues.
5. Create CAD models and layouts of engineering drawings.
6. Create engineering reports.

What You Will Need

1. Degree qualified Engineer with a minimum of 3 years industry experience.
2. Proven ability in one of the leading 3D CAD modeling packages.
3. Experience designing with both metals and plastic materials.
4. Knowledge/experience in concept design work.
5. Knowledge of rotating components such as bearings, seals, gears, and pulleys would be advantageous.
