JOB- Mechanical Design Engineer

LOCATION- Mundford (Hybrid working offered)

TERM- Permanent

SALARY- £35,000 to £50,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Premier Engineering is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a growing engineering company based in Mundford. This role involves designing mechanical components and assemblies for a range of applications, working closely with the engineering and manufacturing teams to develop high-quality products.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

• A degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Strong 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar)
• Experience in mechanical design, preferably in manufacturing or special-purpose machinery
• Knowledge of materials, fabrication, and machining processes
• Ability to produce detailed technical drawings and BOMs
• Understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacture) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal

The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:

• Designing and developing mechanical components and assemblies
• Producing 3D models, 2D drawings, and technical documentation
• Working closely with manufacturing and production teams to optimise designs
• Conducting design reviews and modifications as needed
• Ensuring designs comply with customer specifications and industry standards
• Managing multiple projects while ensuring deadlines and budgets are met
