Job description

THE COMPANY

Global multi-disciplinary consultancy considered to be in the Top 4 Data Centre companies of Northern Europe.

Impressive Central London office close to numerous major transport links.

Very well-established mission critical division that are winning some of the leading projects in the market.

THE ROLE & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Responsible for producing technical drawings, engineering designs, calculations and specifications with the use of software and in accordance with agreed deadlines and budgets.
  2. Able to prepare technical reports in accordance with briefs from clients.
  3. Demonstrable technical understanding of mechanical engineering and proven ability to plan and prioritise work to meet deadlines.
  4. Comply with project management, operational, environmental and health and safety procedures.
  5. Attend and participate in internal and external meetings.
  6. Maintain awareness of the performance of projects against agreed project plans and budgets at level appropriate to role.
  7. Proactively manage own professional development (e.g., actively pursuing Chartership with an appropriate professional institution).

SKILLS AND BACKGROUND

  1. Qualified to a bachelor's degree (BEng) or higher (MEng) in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services.
  2. Experience with undertaking HVAC designs, with a minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer in various complex projects within a consultancy is essential.
  3. The Mechanical Engineer will ideally have experience of designing in Revit MEP.
  4. Excellent communication skills.
  5. Demonstrate commitment to supporting the professional development of less experienced staff, by effective mentoring and coaching.
  6. No prior Data Centre experience needed.
