MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

We are recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer to work for our client who is located in Leeds, West Yorkshire.

THE DUTIES OF A DESIGN ENGINEER:
  1. Produce drawings specifically for SPM (Special Purpose Machines).
  2. Work in line with company procedures and machine capability to ensure production deadlines are met.
  3. Be organised, focused, and able to adopt a high level of attention to detail within your work.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCES & SKILLS:
  1. Experience working in a special purpose machinery or similar design environment.
  2. A genuine passion for and interest in engineering.
  3. A desire to conceive and design quality solutions.
  4. A questioning nature and desire to change and improve the status quo.
  5. Degree or HNC qualification in a mechanically oriented engineering discipline.
  6. Demonstrable experience in machinery design including mechanical assemblies, linkages, couplings, bearings, gear trains, belts, and pulleys.
  7. Additional knowledge of kinematics and force analysis would be advantageous.
  8. Knowledge of CAD, preferably SolidWorks, Inventor, and AutoCAD Mechanical.
  9. Accuracy and attention to detail; including both dimensional and geometric tolerance.
  10. Computer literate and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  11. An understanding of timescales and prioritisation.
  12. Good verbal and written communication skills.
  13. Discretion and trustworthiness.
  14. Outstanding time management skills.
  15. Minimum 5 years' experience working within a high precision manufacturing background.
  16. Excellent communication skills.
THE HOURS:

Monday – Friday 8am-8.30am start

THE PAY:

You will earn an annual salary of up to £41k depending on experience.
