Job description

JOB: Mechanical Design Engineer
LOCATION: Lincolnshire
TERM: Permanent
SALARY: £30,000 to £40,000 per annum (plus benefits)

Premier Engineering is working with a well-established engineering company based in Lincolnshire that is looking to hire a Mechanical Design Engineer. This role is ideal for someone with strong design experience who is proficient in 3D CAD software.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
  1. A degree or qualification in Mechanical Engineering (BEng, MEng, HND, HNC, etc.).
  2. Experience in mechanical design within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  3. Proficiency in 3D CAD software (such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or AutoCAD).
  4. Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including fabrication, machining, and sheet metal design.
  5. Ability to produce detailed technical drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  6. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  7. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  8. Fire systems design would be beneficial but not essential.
  9. Good communication skills to liaise with internal teams and external suppliers.
The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:
  1. Creating 3D models and technical drawings for mechanical components and assemblies.
  2. Developing innovative design solutions for engineering projects.
  3. Working closely with production and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are feasible.
  4. Conducting design reviews and making modifications as required.
  5. Producing detailed documentation, including BOMs and technical specifications.
  6. Ensuring all designs comply with industry standards and regulations.
  7. Supporting the continuous improvement of design processes.
