ROLE - Mechanical Design Engineer

LOCATION - Coleford

TERM - Permanent

SALARY - £30,000 - £40,000 per annum, dependent on experience

My client is a manufacturer of specialist products for a variety of sectors, and they are looking to take on a Mechanical Design Engineer on a permanent basis in the Coleford area.

Attributes:
  1. Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  2. Previous experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
  3. Experience with Sheet Metal/Metalwork is necessary for this role
  4. Proficient using 3D CAD software such as Creo, Inventor, SolidWorks, etc.
  5. Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
  6. Ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team
  7. Ability to carry out mechanical calculations
  8. Previous experience of working with process machinery or steel/metal materials would be desirable
  9. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  10. Proficient using MS Office
  11. Excellent organisational and time management skills
Responsibilities:
  1. Working within the current engineering team with other Design Engineers
  2. Producing 3D designs using SolidWorks and 2D designs with AutoCAD
  3. Liaising with manufacturing providers
  4. Being involved in final assembly of products
  5. Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports/plans
  6. Updating 3D models and drawings
  7. Inputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs
  8. Checking drawings for sign off
  9. Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
