We're recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturer based in Basingstoke, known for their innovative products and precision-engineered solutions.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven Mechanical Design Engineer to join a forward-thinking engineering team, supporting the design and development of bespoke machinery and components used across high-performance manufacturing environments.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Designing mechanical components, assemblies, and special-purpose machinery
• Producing detailed CAD drawings, 3D models, and technical documentation (SolidWorks/Inventor)
• Supporting prototyping, testing, and development processes
• Working cross-functionally with production, quality, and R&D teams
• Ensuring all designs are optimised for manufacture, cost-effectiveness, and quality
• Complying with relevant health & safety, engineering, and manufacturing standards

What We're Looking For:

• Degree/HND in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• 3+ years' experience in mechanical design within a manufacturing or industrial setting
• Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, or equivalent)
• Good understanding of materials, tolerances, GD&T, and engineering drawings
• Experience designing for CNC, sheet metal, machined, or injection moulded components

Nice to Have:

• Exposure to automated systems or special-purpose machinery
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles
• Knowledge of FEA tools or hands-on prototyping
• Experience with ISO, CE marking, or other industry regulations
