JOB: Mechanical Design Engineer

LOCATION: Peterborough

TERM: Permanent

SALARY: GBP 35,000 to GBP 45,000 per annum (plus benefits)

My client designs and manufactures a range of products within the Motorsport industry. They are looking to expand their design team by taking on a Mechanical Design Engineer to work in their office in Peterborough.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will Ideally Have The Following Attributes:

1. 2-3 Years Experience in Mechanical Design
2. Engineering qualification (BEng, MEng, HND, HNC, BSc etc.) in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Motorsport Engineering or similar
3. Excellent 3D CAD skills (Solidworks or Inventor)
4. Experience or a keen interest in Motorsport
5. Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining and fabrication
6. Ability to work well individually as well as part of a team
7. Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
8. Keen to develop with a company long term
9. Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

The Mechanical Design Engineer Role Will Involve:

1. Working within the current engineering team
2. Producing engineering documents in line with contracts and projects
3. Producing 3D designs using CAD software
4. Generating the BOMs to go with the associated designs
5. Liaising with colleagues on other engineering tasks as required
