Mechanical Construction Manager – London (Commercial)

This role will be working on a Commercial project in London for an M+E contractor and will be reporting to the Project Manager, responsible for managing and coordinating all the workings at a job site including that of a crew of trades, apprentices, and labourers.

You will be responsible to ensure that all work installed is completed in accordance with company standards, all work will be completed on budget, on time, and in accordance with plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Establish and adjust work timelines to meet the construction schedule for the project, and organise and coordinate all project materials and equipment. Taking responsibility for health and safety on site.
2. Support the Project Manager to manage and supervise on site personnel.
3. Manage the labour resources on site to ensure efficient working.
4. Complete time sheets accurately & submit on time.
5. Liaise with payroll with payroll queries from site.
6. Maintain discipline on site, report any incidents and take action as appropriate.
7. Manage and train apprentices in accordance with relevant training.
8. Assist the Project Manager to plan labour & material resources.
9. Use the purchasing system to acquire materials as required in the most cost-effective manner.
10. Check all materials before you install them to ensure they are fit for use & comply with the project specifications.
11. Chair formal meetings with sub-contractors, project staff, directors and clients.

Requirements:

1. Detailed knowledge of the Construction Manager role.
2. Commercial understanding.
3. Health, Safety and Environmental systems.
4. 5-10 Years+ experience in a similar role.
5. Working in an M+E environment would be advantageous.
