Our client is an experienced contractor/consultancy in the Defence & Nuclear industry and together with their partners, ensure the country is safe. You could be a huge part of the UK's safety with the role of a Fleet Engineering Delivery Manager.
Please note that you must be able to get security clearance or hold security clearance. We will be bound to this ruling, and therefore any applications from someone who cannot have Security Clearance is wasting your own and our time.
The role in Clyde is on a Naval Base and is a full-time role. 37.5 hours per week across 4.5 working days.
The Fleet EDM is a Mechanical & Electrical bias Delivery Manager. Therefore you will be looking after the Engineering on a day-to-day basis. It's an exciting opportunity to work for a leader in defence specialist engineering. You will be there to develop and guide a direct team of engineering leaders & specialists to achieve a fundamental part of the project and operational maintenance, including areas such as safety, quality, schedule, and cost.
Some of the key areas include:
- Management of engineering output to ensure the technical solutions are the agreed technical scope. Applying technical expertise for the team and to other teams jointly working on the project.
- Ensure High H&S standards are the first thought on site and in any planning.
- Maintain Stakeholder relationships and develop new stakeholder relationships.
- Promote cooperation between team members and different sections of the team, as well as with other teams on the project.
- Support the development of Engineering capabilities and the needs of the future.
- Maintain knowledge of industry best practice.
- You will have to work in confined spaces and at heights.
Experience required:
- Leadership experience such as coaching, monitoring, and managing staff (Essential)
- Experience in the management of several engineering teams on a large scale and on complex projects, ideally in a similar field (Essential)
- Knowledge and working experience of safety management within high-risk environments. Examples of maintaining the highest standards in previous roles (Essential)
- Ability to identify and assess complex engineering packages of work. Ensuring the preparation, planning, and delivery hit budget and KPIs.
- Excellent communication skills with internal teams and the wider business and other organisations.
- HR management experience.
