Job description

M&E Shift Engineer

Location - Shell Centre, Waterloo, London SE1 7NA

Salary - Up to £50,000

Hours - 40 hours per week (rotating early and late shifts)

Shift Pattern - Earlies: 06:00 - 15:00 | Lates: 13:00 - 22:00 | Plus on-call as per onsite rota

As a Multi Skilled M&E Shift Engineer at Sodexo in Shell London, you are a problem-solver and a team player, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of essential building systems. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering planned and reactive maintenance services to meet both contractual and legal requirements, helping to maintain a safe and compliant environment for all.

What you'll do:

  1. Perform fault diagnosis, repair, and testing of electrical, mechanical, and public health services, plant, and equipment.
  2. Ensure health and safety standards are maintained and exceeded on every task.
  3. Provide multi-skilled engineering support, covering planned and reactive maintenance to ensure zero failure on statutory and mandatory tasks.
  4. Assist in contractor management processes, including inductions, safety walks, and compliance documentation.
  5. Support stock purchasing and goods receipting processes to maintain operational efficiency.
  6. Maintain accurate statutory documentation and records to support compliance and audit requirements.

What you bring:

  1. A recognised technical qualification in Electrical or Mechanical engineering (mandatory).
  2. A minimum of 5 years' experience in an M&E role within a large, complex commercial environment.
  3. Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, heating, cooling, ventilation, and public health systems.
  4. Proven experience working in a Building Services/FM Engineering environment.
  5. A full, valid driving license held for at least 2 years.
