JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsible to: Senior Maintenance Officer
JOB PURPOSE
Operate and maintain an effective and efficient maintenance service for all properties.
KEY RESULT AREAS (RESPONSIBILITIES)
Duties
2. To carry out and prepare condition reports on all properties, to ascertain maintenance requirements.

3. Prepare and supervise planned maintenance programmes, minor work projects, projection of costs, drafting of specifications and working drawings.

4. To appoint and supervise contractors of various disciplines to carry out the maintenance programme and be accountable for all contractual matters.

NOTES TO JOB APPLICANTSSection 1 - Essential Criteria
The following are essential criteria which will initially be measured at the shortlisting stage and which may also be further explored during the interview/selection stage.
Factor Essential Criteria Method of Assessment Qualifications/Hold a HNC / HND or equivalent in a Mechanical & Electrical discipline and have three years' demonstrable experience in a Mechanical & Electrical role;
OR
hold an ONC or equivalent in a Mechanical & Electrical discipline and have four years' demonstrable experience in a Mechanical & Electrical role;
OR
have five years’ demonstrable experience in a Mechanical & Electrical role.
Demonstrate experience in the use of ICT in the context of estates management information systems and including AutoCAD.

KnowledgeDemonstrate a broad knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance issues with sound management techniques and strategies to problem solve and use own initiative.
Demonstrate a knowledge of relevant Health & Safety regulations in relation to Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance and in particular CDM regulations.
