Job Summary

Location – Hilton Depot, Bishopbriggs

Applications are sought for a suitably qualified & experienced LGV / Plant Mechanic, based at our fleet workshops at the Hilton Depot in Bishopbriggs.

In this role your responsibility will include the day-to-day maintenance and repair of the Council’s Plant & Vehicle Fleet. Reporting to the workshop co-ordinator your duties will include service, inspection, and maintenance of Vehicles & Plant to industry standards ensuring all work undertaken is of the highest standard and vehicles & plant in operation are always roadworthy. A compulsory standby service is in operation and there is a requirement for the successful candidate to be on an emergency call out rota.

Where the post you are applying for is considered a Regulated Role under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020, successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check, prior to confirmation of employment being made by East Dunbartonshire Council.

Please note, successful candidates will be expected to meet the cost of the relevant check which will be deducted from the successful candidate’s first salary payment.
