Job Title: Maths Teacher for SEN College
Location: Maidstone
Salary: £140 - £250 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are offering a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated Maths Teacher to join a specialist SEN college in Maidstone. This role is ideal for a committed educator who can inspire and support students with special educational needs (SEN) through tailored and engaging mathematical instruction.

About The Role:

As a Maths Teacher at an SEN college, you will be responsible for delivering differentiated lessons that cater to a range of learning needs, ensuring that students receive the best possible support in developing their mathematical skills and confidence. You will work closely with support staff and therapists to create an inclusive and structured learning environment where every student can thrive.

Responsibilities of the Maths Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver creative and accessible maths lessons tailored to the needs of SEN students.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to support students with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning difficulties.
  • Assess and track student progress, providing individualised learning plans to enhance achievement.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and support staff to ensure holistic development.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, using innovative teaching methods.
  • Encourage student engagement and independence in learning.
  • Maintain accurate records and report on student progress to parents and senior leadership.

Maths Teacher Job Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialisation in Maths.
  • Proven experience teaching Maths within an SEN setting (college or secondary level preferred).
  • Strong understanding of differentiation and personalised learning for students with SEN.
  • Knowledge of British educational curriculums, including GCSE, Functional Skills, and Entry Level Maths.
  • Ability to use adaptive teaching techniques, including multi-sensory approaches.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with support staff and families.
  • A compassionate, patient, and resilient approach to teaching.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
