Maths Graduate Cover Supervisor - Full-Time Role

Contract: Full-time, starting after Easter until the end of the academic year
Pay: £419.25 - £500 per week
Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Maths Graduate to join a Good Ofsted-rated secondary school in Levenshulme as a Cover Supervisor. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates considering a future in teaching, offering valuable classroom experience in a supportive school environment.
As a Maths Graduate Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-prepared lessons and supervising students in the absence of the regular teacher. This role does not require planning or marking but does involve ensuring students remain engaged and productive during lessons.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising and managing classrooms across different year groups, primarily within the Maths department.
- Delivering pre-set lesson materials and ensuring students stay on task.
- Providing support and guidance to students with their work as needed.
- Managing classroom behaviour and enforcing school policies to maintain a positive learning environment.
- Covering lessons in other subject areas when required.
- Communicating effectively with teaching staff and reporting on student progress and behaviour.
- Assisting with intervention sessions, extracurricular activities, or revision groups where appropriate.
- Ensuring safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.
We are looking for a Maths Graduate who:
- Holds a degree in Mathematics or a related subject.
- Has a genuine passion for education and working with young people.
- Is confident in leading a classroom and managing student behaviour.
- Has strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Can engage and motivate students to participate in lessons.
- Has prior experience working with young people in an educational, mentoring, or tutoring capacity (preferred but not essential).
- Is adaptable, organised, and able to work effectively in a school environment.
- Has an understanding of safeguarding and child protection (training will be provided).
