Job description

Owen Reed is looking to recruit a motivated Property Litigation Secretary to join a top law firm in London.

The Dispute Resolution Team

Our team offers a comprehensive range of litigation services, including commercial and financial disputes, contentious trust and probate cases, and property conflicts (both commercial and residential). We also specialize in legal matters related to sports, education, privacy, defamation, and media.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Efficiently coordinating and managing multiple schedules and appointments
  • Creating documents and presentations using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Maintaining professional and timely communication with clients
  • Organising domestic and international conference calls
  • Scheduling internal and external meetings
  • Completing and submitting expense reports
  • Coordinating Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points and training seminars
  • Arranging UK and overseas courier services
  • Handling photocopying, scanning, faxing, and filing as needed
  • Managing email correspondence, including attachments and filing
  • Preparing monthly bills and draft narratives
  • Opening and closing files as required
  • Collaborating with departmental staff and partners to prioritize tasks
  • Monitoring account balances and bill payments within the system
  • Maintaining a detailed log of billing information
  • Ensuring the upkeep and organization of departmental directories
  • Assisting colleagues within the department as necessary

The Candidate

  • The ideal candidate will provide a wide range of secretarial, document processing, and administrative support to fee earners.
  • This role requires knowledge of legal terminology and procedures, along with relevant technology. Duties include client service and word processing.

Required Skills

  • Excellent word processing skills
  • Advanced competency in Office 2010 (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adaptability
  • Professional demeanor with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively
