A great new opportunity with a global business - my client is currently looking to recruit a Materials Planner. Within this position, you will be responsible for all aspects of inventory control, supply planning, and demand forecasting. The ideal candidate will have experience working within a Materials Planner position and have vast knowledge of supply chain management and lean manufacturing principles.

Role & Responsibilities:

1. Monitoring inventory levels of materials and finished goods to ensure stock levels are updated, using ERP systems to do so.
2. Completing regular material inventories to aid demand forecasting.
3. Liaison with suppliers to retain long-lasting relationships to meet the demands of materials procurement.
4. Drive continuous improvement using lean manufacturing principles and decrease costs where possible.
5. Manage supply chain risks and devise contingency plans to mitigate material and supply chain-related risks.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

1. Previous experience within a Material Planner position.
2. Knowledge of ERP and MRP systems.
3. A strong understanding of supply chain management principles.
4. Understanding of lean manufacturing principles (Six Sigma, Kaizen, JIT).
