Engineering Direct is exclusively recruiting for this exciting opportunity on behalf of our client, a leading player in the automotive logistics sector. This role presents a fantastic chance to join a well-established department and play a crucial role in maintaining and improving operations.
We are seeking a highly organised and IT-proficient individual to support the Services Manager. This role is an excellent opportunity for career growth, with a clear path towards senior leadership positions in the future. While a background in rail vehicle maintenance or mechanical engineering is beneficial, full training will be provided. A methodical approach, strong data management skills, and a proactive attitude are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring the safe maintenance of fleet adhering to maintenance plans and UK regulations.
- Monitor and update maintenance activities in the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS - 2020M).
- Maintain accurate records of tracking stock levels, condition, and locations.
- Generate and present a weekly stock report, including projections for upcoming maintenance needs.
- Visit UK repair sites periodically to verify database accuracy.
- Scrutinize automated reports for inconsistencies and investigate anomalies.
- Ensure real-time updates of maintenance data from UK technicians and workshops in 2020M.
- Prepare weekly deployment plans for staff and assist in payroll and purchase order processing.
- Support technical projects, including renovations and repurposing.
- Assist with KPIs, environmental reports, and ECM annual audits.
- Contribute to digitalisation projects for UK maintenance operations.
The Candidate
- Must have eligibility to work in the UK; no sponsorship is available.
- Minimum of 4 GCSEs (including Maths and English); A-levels or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in project management.
- Background in mechanical engineering or rail vehicle maintenance.
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office.
- Prior supervisory experience is advantageous.

- Willingness to travel within the UK as required.
- Must have a full and clean driving license.
- Highly organized and analytical, with strong attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and proficient in IT systems.
