Job description

We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Materials Coordinator to join our clients’ team. You will work closely with multiple departments to ensure that all required materials are available for production and that production schedules are adhered to efficiently and effectively. The goal is to maintain a seamless flow of operations while meeting quality standards and delivery timelines.
Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the ordering, storage, and distribution of materials to support production or project needs.
  2. Monitor and manage inventory levels to avoid stockouts or overstock situations. Conduct regular inventory audits and reconciliations.
  3. Place orders with suppliers, track shipments, and ensure timely delivery of materials to meet production needs.
  4. Inspect incoming materials for quality and compliance with specifications.
  5. Maintain accurate records of material orders, receipts, and inventory levels to ensure transparency and compliance with internal policies.
  6. Develop and manage detailed schedules based on sales forecasts, orders, and material availability. Ensure deadlines are met while optimising resources and minimising downtime.
  7. Work with production teams to assess available capacity and adjust schedules as necessary to align with demand or unforeseen production delays.
  8. Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and production teams to resolve issues related to materials or production planning and ensure that production runs smoothly.
  9. Coordinate the prioritisation of production orders based on material availability, customer deadlines, and business needs.
  10. Track the progress of production to ensure it stays on schedule. Provide regular updates to management regarding production status and any potential delays.
  11. Assist with forecasting demand for materials and production needs, using historical data and market trends to predict future requirements.
