The Job: The Materials Assistant report directly into the Operations Director, and is responsible for the receipt, kitting and despatch of materials and general stores functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Unpacking, checking and processing of goods received (mostly high-value electronic and precision components).
Marking and repacking the materials for storage, transferring the materials to the stores and entry of the receipt into the company ERP system.
Performing general inspection of all received materials against the purchase specification and supplier documentation and processing of non-conforming material.
Performing specific inspection and testing of critical materials and recording results into the company ERP system.
Withdrawal of components from the stores into kits of parts for production, recording of traceable component data, and entry into ERP system.
Packing and despatch of spares orders, arranging shipment/freight, producing shipping documents and sales invoices.
Packing of completed analysers and accessories and marking of packing cases.
Loading and unloading of material receipts and despatches using the fork-lift truck.
Performing regular cycle-counting of stocked materials and recording results into the company ERP system.
Control and replenishment of consumable items in conjunction with the production team.
Control of periodic calibration of test equipment by external suppliers.
Organisation and housekeeping of the stores and general factory areas in accordance with company policies and procedures.
General administrative duties including data entry into the company ERP system and use of Microsoft Office 365 programs.
Any other duties as assigned by the management team.
About You:
HNC or C&G in a business, engineering or technical discipline.
Physically fit, tasks regularly involve lifting and bending.
General educational qualifications such as Maths and English.
Demonstrate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams, along with Adobe Acrobat.
Strong analytical thinking.
Problem solving skills and communication skills.
Keen attention to detail.
Highly self-motivated.
Friendly, easy going and able to mix well with colleagues.
