Our vast direct-to-store (DTS) distribution network, comprising of 17 depots nationwide, enables us to make over 10,500 daily deliveries of our own chilled and frozen produce and that of third parties.

Here at Selby, we employ a team of over 750 colleagues. A site steeped in history, we are the UK's number one manufacturer of customer private label cooking sauces and pickles. We have been serving our customers out of our Selby site since 1914.

What you'll be doing

As Raw Materials Planner, you will identify and implement optimum plans and schedules that deliver stock and service targets and/or procure materials/labour to organise production in line with customer needs.

  1. Utilise available planning systems to convert sales forecasts into achievable production and material plans and schedules that optimally balance customer service and operational cost efficiency.
  2. Manage risks within the plan and amend orders where possible/practical to achieve customer service and stock targets.
  3. Share forecasts with suppliers and work with them to resolve issues with materials availability.
  4. Measure, minimise and publish expected obsolete/over stocks (finished product and/or raw materials).
  5. Manage ongoing communication with the operations teams to ensure accurate exchange of information.
  6. Propose and implement continuous improvements in own area.
  7. Translate production plans into material requirements and convert them into supplier purchase orders.

  1. Understanding and working with planning processes.
  2. Fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) knowledge supported by experience of working in a fast-paced seasonal environment.
  3. Experience working with multiple ranges of SKUs, both short and long lead time.
  4. Attention to detail skill and ability.
  5. Can demonstrate analytical thinking.
  6. Experience working with computers including experience of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system (intermediate level).
