This is a brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance works across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main Mechanical, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (MEH), cabling and associated support services. This innovative approach will help different contractors work as a single entity to deliver the complex installation of cabling and pipework in the power station’s vast network of rooms.

As a Material Coordinator, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Being part of the MEH Alliance working on Hinkley Point C is a chance to be involved in a major project with national significance.

Day-to-day, you’ll carry out material/asset management activities, including ensuring lifetime quality records and relevant documentation are recorded and maintained, completing forms on maintenance and disposal of plant, material and equipment, data input allowing for recognition of improvements and performance monitoring, and advising on improvements to processes.

  • Coordination and communication of materials between material package managers, warehouse teams, and construction teams.
  • Attend coordination meetings that cover procurement/expediting and warehouse inventory for all MEH Material.
  • Accumulate data from a 16-week lookahead to support scheduling of deliveries and installation material per the specified material category and/or construction area.
  • Aid in providing data input to create detailed visual aids and tables to support forecasted material data.
  • Create material requests within the asset tracking system against the forward lookahead.
  • Assist with cataloguing and data input into the asset tracking system.

This role is full-time, thirty-seven hours per week, and is based off-site at Hinkley Logistics Hub in Bridgwater.

Essential experience of the Material Coordinator

  • Strong administrative, quality, and asset management skills are necessary to coordinate material management and strengthen the end-to-end material process flow.
  • Practical experience in warehouse, equipment, and asset management is highly valued. Previous experience in warehouse operations and supply chain/material management at large scale is essential.
  • Industry-specific certifications can enhance your credibility and demonstrate your expertise, e.g., the Institute of Asset Management (IAM) offers certifications such as the Certificate in Asset Management (CAM) or the Diploma in Asset Management (DAM).
  • Demonstrable experience within warehousing operations, material, and equipment management role within a regulated industry.
