MATCH is a newly established service designed as a single point of access to streamline access to services. Comprising a diverse team of professionals, MATCH provides clinicians with expert advice and guidance to facilitate appropriate onward referrals.

MATCH is a collaborative partnership between community, ambulance, primary care, and acute services, bringing together a multidisciplinary team (MDT) to support patient care closer to home. The service aims to reduce unnecessary ambulance dispatches, emergency department visits, and hospital admissions, ultimately improving patient outcomes.

MATCH is looking for an Administrator to work in the multi-disciplinary team, work with other administrators and health and social care professionals to develop the ethos of multi-disciplinary, integrated care and seamless services ensuring that patient care is delivered to the highest possible standard.

Main duties of the job

As an Administrator in a multi-disciplinary team, work with other administrators and health and social care professionals to develop the ethos of multi-disciplinary, integrated care and seamless services ensuring that patient care is delivered to the highest possible standard. As an Administrator working under the general direction of the Senior MATCH Coordinator, undertake a range of administrative duties. Develop and maintain administrative systems, procedures, and records to enable the team to deliver effective health and social care services and to ensure that the office environment is safe, appropriately maintained, and equipped. You will be required to participate in a rota to provide cover initially between 10:00 and 18:00 Monday to Friday. There is an aspiration that the hub operating hours may extend to working 08:00 to 20:00 to include weekends at some point in the future.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
  • NVQ2 in Business Admin or equivalent relevant business subject
  • ECDL or equivalent

Experience

  • Able to demonstrate previous office experience
  • Able to demonstrate experience of regular working with electronic management information systems
  • Able to demonstrate ability to work without direct supervision
  • Able to demonstrate experience of telephone and electronic communication within own job and with external organisations
  • Experience of health or social care environments

Knowledge

  • Able to demonstrate understanding of office procedures and relevant statutory regulations
  • Able to demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office
  • Able to demonstrate understanding of issues related to confidentiality
  • General understanding of relevant legislation eg Data Protection, Health and Safety
  • Knowledge and experience of using EMIS
  • Familiarity with patient administration systems
  • Knowledge of health and social care systems across Cumbria

Skills and Aptitudes

  • Able to demonstrate excellent written, verbal communication skills, polite and tactful telephone manner
  • IT skills including word processing, spreadsheets, data capture and processing, desktop publishing
  • Flexible and versatile approach to meet the needs of the service and environment.

Personal Circumstances

  • Able to travel independently of public transport
  • Able to work 7 days per week 08:00 to 20:00
