Marketing Manager, Charity c£41000

A fantastic opportunity for a Marketing professional to join this brilliant global disability charity to further their work in the UK and further afield. The role of Marketing Manager reports in to their Head of Marketing and will be responsible for managing a small professional team across digital / online and offline to delivery outstanding marketing services for the organisation. It would suit an experienced Marketer with a broad experience (ideally including some professional qualification IDM, CIM, CIoF, undergraduate or post graduate marketing or relevant business qualification, or equivalent commercial world experience), ideally with some supervisory or managerial experience looking to progress their career in the charity sector or to transition their B2C experience into the not-for-profit arena.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include driving development and growth of the charity’s established and varied cultivation, acquisition, regular giving and group fundraising programmes across digital and direct marketing. The role involves short-term tactical and some strategic decision-making authority with agreed parameters. You’ll manage marketing budgets, brief and work alongside 3rd parties, agencies and freelancers, as well as closely collaborate with other areas of fundraising and communications and the internal teams as a whole.

  • You can demonstrate solid experience in a B2C / eB2C environment with a track record in direct marketing campaign planning, campaign management, market research, follow-up and learnings (online and offline). You will:
  • Manage the effective implementation of the direct marketing programme, ensuring that activity is of a high standard, in line with strategic priorities and delivered to time and budget.
  • Lead on the continued development of mass, high donor and groups direct and digital marketing programmes, as well as continually test and develop their fundraising proposition and products. identifying opportunities for cost saving and/or quality improvement.
  • Improve supporter / donor / customer experience: facilitate supporter journey mapping to improve retention and develop wow moments, finding solutions to problems and fill gaps.
  • Consider new income streams (e.g. trading) and broaden the channels used currently for direct response campaigns (direct mail, magazine inserts, press advertising, social media, online, email and telephone) to reach an agreed balance of long-term value versus risk.
  • Take responsibility for market research, trends and data analysis, developing the audience insight programme, including donor and market research, data analysis and profiling to understand supporter views and needs so that the charity can partner more effectively with them to help people in the world’s poorest places. You will also monitor the activity of related organisations and the fundraising sector, identifying changes, predicting trends and making recommendations as necessary.

The role is a hybrid remote working / home-based with up to 50% work time at home with the rest being office based out of one of their global offices in Cambridge and offers a salary up to £41,000 + a fantastic benefits package.
