Job Description

At Kisco Senior Living, the Marketing Manager will be a part of the Marketing team that works to develop and manage direct marketing campaigns, advertising, and branded collateral for a portion of the 31 Kisco communities to support sales lead generation goals. Primary responsibility includes coordinating Home Office Marketing support of graphic design, website needs, eblasts, promotional materials and public relations coordination. Additional focus includes working closely with creative manager on copy creation to be used in advertising, direct mail, website and collateral materials, ensuring compliance with KSL branding and messaging. The measurable objective is to increase leads from marketing efforts at each community.

This is a Hybrid position and requires working from our Carlsbad California office 2-3 days a week.

What will I do every day?

  1. Develop concepts and copy for direct marketing campaigns (both digital and print), advertisements, and direct mail that is in line with Kisco prospect profiles and KSL branding.
  2. Research and book advertising for communities based on budgets, community preferences, and review the success of campaigns using QR codes, trackable phone numbers, and lead/move in tracking data.
  3. Plan and conduct quarterly planning calls and track marketing budgets, cost to date, and community event plans for all assigned KSL communities.
  4. Coordinate with each VP and their communities to ensure comprehensive campaign schedule is supported by onsite associates, outreach and any referral activities to ensure best participation.
  5. Serve as day-to-day contact for PR Agency, responsible for review of press releases and advertorials to ensure accurate brand representation.
  6. Press Release tracking and distribution of PR summary newsletters on provided software.
  7. Analyze and summarize community resident and prospect data to provide detailed information to outside agencies for targeted direct mail list generation. Procure and manage the sorting and saving of purchased list for use by printers.
  8. Coordinate and execute e-blast schedules and lists.
  9. Participate in team strategy sessions to better understand our customer and create materials that meet existing and future lead generation requirements. This includes brand concepting for new KSL communities.
  10. Provide input to National Director of Marketing for continuous marketing process improvements including new technologies, programs, and marketing approaches.
  11. Use company software (Avid and Agiloft) to review marketing invoices including occasional troubleshooting, obtaining payment receipts and remaining knowledgeable on process for contract and invoice submittal.
  12. Excel at knowing Canva’s capabilities on order to execute training, creation of and publishing of templates in addition to overall account management.
  13. Establish logins and troubleshoot access issues for Curtis 1000 print portal and Canva for all users.
  14. Know and understand Kisco’s Principles, Values, and Beliefs (PVB’s) and uses them to guide all actions and decisions, including interactions with others.
  15. Perform other duties and tasks as assigned or required including but not limited to corporate presentations and training materials, new project material development, corporate collateral, and launching of new programs.

What will I need to be successful in this role?

  1. College graduate with 3-5 years of marketing/advertising/agency management experience.
  2. Social media strategy/email campaigns/graphic design knowledge is a plus.
  3. Experience working with outside agencies in the design and development of direct marketing campaigns.
  4. Experience with Public Relations firm and management of their efforts.
  5. A passion for excellence.
  6. A great moral compass.
  7. A creative, self-starter who can work with little or no instruction/supervision on varied business-related projects.
  8. Must have strong analytical/organization and advanced written and verbal communications skills.
  9. Ability to interact well with co-workers and function within a team environment.
  10. Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment with multiple priorities.
  11. Must be able to travel as required.
  12. Must be fluent in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop and have a working knowledge of four-color printing process.
  13. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  14. Must have knowledge of Internet advertising and marketing.
  15. Knowledge of senior housing industry and Kisco communities highly preferred.
