The Role

As Marketing Director you’ll be leading the charge and flying the flag for Marble on a global scale. This role is pivotal to growth and requires someone with in-depth industry experience that knows how to grow an agency brand through building reputation amongst a diverse and varied audience set.

You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Marketing Department with a direct report (Marketing Executive) to support you as well as guidance and mentorship from your line manager (Head of Growth).

You will understand the agency landscape and in particular the world of experiential and events, both B2B and B2C are a huge part of our DNA. With a finger on the pulse and a thirst for industry knowledge, you’ll be focussed on both proactive and reactive marketing comms that drive fame and build the Marble reputation as a key player in the live experience space.

Our audience goes beyond current and potential clients, so you’ll need to know how to resonate with those key people as well as the broader industry - talent, potential partners and the trade press.

You will be responsible for working with our strategy and insights team to analyse market trends, client behaviour and campaign success to develop and continually improve marketing strategies. You will be a strong leader who has the ability to drive a team forward while also developing and mentoring them individually.

The role of the Marketing Director is crucial in ensuring that we are communicating our offering and brand effectively and are consistently being viewed as a respected and trusted industry leader.

Responsibilities

  1. Create, manage and deliver a robust marketing strategy
  2. Alongside the Head of Growth, develop, track and manage annual budgets with diligence to ensure spend is optimal and generating success
  3. Focusing on the UK market but also ensuring presence is built across EMEA, the US and other emerging markets (TBC). Outline expected ROI, profit and loss projections and revenue targets for the department including new business and account growth
  4. Responsible for creating annual strategy for award submissions
  5. Create an always-on digital strategy with focus across key social channels - LinkedIn and Instagram alongside email, SEO and paid media.
  6. Work alongside the Head of Growth to develop the content strategy for the marketing department. Manage the rest of the team to implement the strategy, ensuring it aligns with the company's overall goals and objectives
  7. Develop the press content strategy. Have an extensive knowledge of press opportunities and how to utilise the press to increase the strength of the Marble brand. Continually develop and enhance relationships with press and leverage this to elevate the profiles of Marble and senior team members.
  8. Curate comprehensive reports and analysis and report to Head of Growth and board level
  9. Manage, develop and mentor the marketing team, ensuring that workloads are distributed effectively. Be the first port of call on employee relations matters and work with HR to ensure processes are being followed
  10. Set out and manage personal development plans for the team, ensuring that senior members of the team are maintaining company culture objectives
  11. Encourage the marketing team to develop their own personal skills and experience through immersion in the industry
  12. Chair regular meetings with the Head of Growth to review findings from team meetings. Attend and/or participate at conventions, conferences, and tradeshows, preparing engaging displays and collateral as needed, and providing post-event reports and analysis. A key high-level influencer within the industry
  13. You’ll take ownership of the Marble brand and ensure all assets and communication are exemplary and consistent

Skills & Experience

  1. Experience managing a small team that will have the potential to grow
  2. Self starter with ideas and initiative
  3. Strong attention to detail
  4. A collaborator at heart with an ability to galvanise a team around you
  5. A test and learn mentality, constantly evolving and optimising our approach to marketing
  6. Strong experience of building an agency brand in tandem with lead generating campaigns
  7. An understanding of the trade press with contacts you can lean on straight away
  8. A brand guardian, taking full ownership of all Marble assets and communication

We operate a flexible working environment with a combination of working from home (2 days per week) and working from the office format plus flexible working hours when commuting to and from work.
