Business Need / Purpose of Role:
Our client is a leading global manufacturer of pumps and valves, providing after-sales service and support to customers worldwide. We are seeking a Technical Content Marketing Specialist to join our global marketing team. This individual will play a critical role in producing high-quality, technically-focused content that supports our marketing initiatives.
The role requires developing detailed, technical white papers, brochures, and other customer-facing materials that drive engagement and sales. Additionally, the specialist will host webinars and assist in editing and polishing content provided by subject matter experts (SMEs).
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has excellent writing skills, and is adept at translating complex technical information into clear, compelling content for various audiences. Experience in the flow control industry is highly desired.

Key Responsibilities and Specific Accountabilities:
In this role, you will have the following areas of responsibility:
- Content Development:
The Technical Content Marketing Specialist will develop technical white papers, brochures, and other long-form content that highlights clients' expertise and value proposition. They will collaborate with SMEs to gather technical data and translate it into engaging customer-focused content. Responsibilities include writing and editing content for multiple platforms, such as white papers, product brochures, and technical collateral, and webinar presentations, as well as supporting our performance marketing specialist with website and landing page copy, blog posts (SEO-focused), and email marketing campaigns. The specialist will also maintain and enhance the corporate brand voice across all content. - Project Management:
The specialist will work closely with designers to create visuals and layouts for technical documents and coordinate with global marketing teams to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality content. They must also be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively prioritize in a dynamic work environment.
Responsibilities:
You must be a great writer with tactical in-market content production experience. This is a production-level position. You will be actively writing content from data provided by SMEs within the business. Your ability to digest technical details and translate those details into customer-facing content that helps our customers understand the value we provide will be vital to your success.
Some on-the-job familiarity with WordPress, Marketo (marketing automation), and social media platforms is preferred. Collaboration and engagement are key drivers in this role - you will be working on multiple projects at a time across the department and organization. Attention to detail and strong copywriting and proofreading skills are essential.
Marketing projects where content pieces are needed can include:
- Case studies
- Technical sales collateral
- Industry white papers
- Brochures and product collateral
- Website and landing pages
- Blog content, with SEO in mind
- Social media content
- Marketing messages through email
- Video scripts
- Press releases
This role includes the following duties:
- Develop content pieces that target the client’s ideal customer base and drive engagement and, ultimately, sales.
- Write and edit content (short and long-form), and develop short-form content for a wide variety of marketing communications for both internal and external audiences.
- Translate complex technical capabilities into clear value propositions that engage our customers and drive measurable results across all traditional and digital outlets.
- Facilitate translation of content into multiple languages as applicable, via agency service or internal support.
- Partner with the graphic design team to develop supporting graphics and layout when applicable.
- Participate in Media Outreach and PR efforts as needed, globally.
Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, or Marketing; a minor in Mechanical Engineering is a plus.
Experience:
5+ years of experience in content creation for one of our primary business verticals - pumps, valves, or industrial service for a valves or pumps company. Please be prepared to share your content work portfolio as part of the interview process for this role.
- Exemplary written communication skills in the English language and develop content that aligns with customer segments in the pumps or valves industry.
- Copywriting experience in a technical environment is required; experience with creative writing, content marketing, writing for SEO, and social media is a plus.
- Strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines are required.
- Experience working in a global matrix environment with colleagues in different countries (and different time zones) and understanding cultural differences is required.
- Experience leading PR efforts, including media outreach for earned content in a variety of business and general media outlets, is preferred.
- Experience in Marketo is preferred.
- Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
