Job Summary:

The new role of Marketing Communications Manager is a stand-alone role, working closely with the Executive Board. It will suit a self-starter, who is happy to take on a varied and exciting remit. They will develop and implement an effective strategy for both internal and external communications, encompassing employees, potential clients and other stakeholders. They will create content for the website, Intranet, digital newsletters, print publications and social networking sites, and facilitate required design changes on our various platforms. They will ensure consistency within company brand guidelines, messaging and the frequency of posting via digital media. They will coordinate public relations activities, manage external relationships and ensure a coherent approach across all channels.

Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Communication:
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy aligned with the organisation's goals and objectives.
    • Craft clear and consistent messages for both internal and external audiences, maintaining a consistent tone and an exceptionally high level of written communication.
  2. Media Relations:
    • Engage with industry media, press agencies and internal departments to prepare and distribute external press releases and other communication materials.
    • Coordinate external events, recruitment fairs and industry tradeshows.
  3. Content Creation:
    • Create content for all communication channels, including press releases, articles, blogs, social media, and marketing collateral in accordance with the company's brand guidelines and values.
    • Craft and review website content and brief website developer on required design and artwork changes.
  4. Internal Communication:
    • Facilitate effective communication within the organization, keeping employees informed about key updates, initiatives, and events.
    • Develop and implement internal communication plans to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction.
    • Monitor and coordinate all content and contributions to the in-house Intranet.
    • Coordinate internal events including annual corporate strategy events, Town Halls and employee council meetings.
  5. Social Media Management:
    • Manage and update the organization's social media platforms to maintain a strong online presence.
    • Monitor social media trends and engage with followers to build a positive brand image.
  6. Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, HR, and executive leadership, to align communication efforts with overall business objectives.
    • Provide communication support for specific projects, initiatives, or campaigns.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • Undergraduate degree in Communications, Public Relations or Marketing.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a marketing communications management role, with a portfolio of work to share.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, equally adept at in-person or written communication.
  • Knowledge of media relations.
  • Confidence with social media management.
  • Digital marketing expertise.
  • Ability to prioritise work under pressure using good judgement within deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with all stakeholders.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with graphic design or multimedia content creation.
  • Familiarity with communication tools and technologies.
  • Knowledge of industry trends.
  • Experience working in communications in the technology sector.
