Market Strategist Insurance
Fitch Solutions is currently seeking a Market Strategist, Global Insurance and Financial Institutions based out of our London or European Offices.
Fitch Solutions is currently seeking a commercial leader with global Insurance experience to help lead the build out of Fitch's global Insurance and financial institutions content/product suite. The global Insurance Lead in Fitch Solutions will be part of the Ratings Data & Research (RDR) team in London, reporting to the Global Head for Financial Institutions. Created in 2020, the RDR team is growing significantly to meet its mandate of expanding the suite of data and analytical products and further embed them across the credit ecosystem. The team is strategically important for Fitch Group as it is responsible for growing the RDR business line revenue in Fitch Solutions and partnering with Fitch Ratings to support its strategic growth initiatives.
What We Offer:
- The successful candidate will work with a high degree of autonomy to develop and deliver a content/product strategy to support Fitch's strategic growth objectives for the Insurance and financial institutions sector.
- Working collaboratively with Fitch Ratings, this role will represent the voice of the customer as it relates to content/products for the global insurance sector and financial institutions where needed, bringing detailed knowledge of industry workflows, challenges, market trends, and the competitive landscape.
- This role will work closely with the Product, Sales, Marketing, and Business Intelligence teams in Fitch Solutions as well as colleagues in Fitch Ratings to orchestrate the development of new products/content, enhance existing products/content, and increase adoption across key market participants.
- Ability to travel globally.
We'll Count on You To:
Product/Content Strategy
- In collaboration with colleagues in Fitch Ratings and Fitch Solutions, develop the overall product/content strategy for the Insurance sector; including new products and enhancements.
- Assist with other financial institutions product/content strategy, including new products and enhancements.
- Develop the sector's product roadmap (including prioritization) in collaboration with partners/stakeholders in Fitch Ratings and Fitch Solutions within Financial Institutions.
- Develop and prioritize business cases and ensure the successful delivery of new product investments and initiatives by actively engaging with Fitch's agile structure and teams.
- Develop and own the execution of the Go-to-Market strategy of new product releases and major enhancements, including strategies to support adoption and use amongst Fitch Ratings' strategic contacts/users.
- Assess and develop insights on the competitive landscape.
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of the workflow, trends, and challenges for each relevant RDR user group. Understand user personas, workflows, and pain points.
- Clear understanding of Insurance data, regulations, and accounting, including Solvency II, IFRS 17, US Statutory reporting, and International Capital Standards.
- Provide Marketing with clear articulations of the user challenge and product value proposition to feed marketing collateral.
- Collaborate with Fitch Ratings on the sector's overall research/content strategy.
- Solicit client feedback on existing products and content, provide feedback to Fitch Ratings, and action changes as appropriate in collaboration with Fitch Ratings.
- Identify strategic partners to distribute Fitch's content and lead commercial discussions to drive product integration, working with the Strategic Partners team.
- Work with relevant Fitch Solutions teams to conduct build/partner/buy analysis and make recommendations for inorganic opportunities.
Customer Experience/User Engagement
- Own the curation and display of Ratings research and products on Fitch Connect.
- Track customer engagement and usage (e.g., Fitch Connect views, email opens/clicks) and adjust display/distribution accordingly.
- Solicit client feedback on curation and display of content and action changes as appropriate based on the feedback.
- Work with Fitch Solutions stakeholders to conduct win/loss analysis to understand shortfalls in existing offerings and enhance or modify content/products as necessary.
Commercial Strategy & Sales Enablement
- Work with Commercial Policy and other teams to define packaging and pricing of RDR products for relevant client types.
- Work closely with colleagues in Fitch Solutions Sales to achieve new logo, cross-sell, and retention goals; including participating in key client/prospect meetings.
- Develop comprehensive value proposition positioning and collateral, including the articulation of market opportunities creating need for Fitch Solutions products and Fitch Solutions key areas of differentiation.
- Assist marketing with the development of case studies, user personas, and other marketing material.
- Design and deliver internal training sessions for Sales and other customer-facing teams, at times in collaboration with Fitch Ratings.
- Develop and maintain an inventory of client presentations/pitch material.
- Participate in external conferences, events, and media opportunities to build the Fitch Solutions brand as a leading provider of solutions to debt investment and credit risk professionals.
What You Need to Have:
- Expert knowledge of insurance and market workflows is required.
- Subject matter expertise in global Insurance regulations and accounting is essential.
- 7+ years of experience in the Insurance sector; such experience likely to come from having worked within investment or commercial banking, the capital markets, an insurance or insurance-related company, or a rating agency.
- 7+ total years of experience including commercial experience bringing new products to market.
- Expert knowledge of credit market workflows.
- Strong professional network within the financial markets and understanding of key market trends.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Gravitas and credibility to represent Fitch with senior audiences externally and senior internal stakeholders to lead cross-functional initiatives.
- Ability to communicate market trends to clients and prospects and connect their needs with actionable Solutions provided by Fitch.
What Would Make You Stand Out:
- Client coverage experience preferred.
- Prior success in end-to-end product launches preferred.
- Experience in other financial institutions, such as banks and non-bank financial institutions is desired but not required.
