Job description

Marine Engineer
Our client, a Marine Operational Support Provider, is currently seeking a Fast Rescue Craft / Marine Engineer to join their team, based in Lowestoft.
This is a full time, permanent opportunity.

Working hours:
Monday to Friday: 07:30 - 16:30, with a one-hour lunch break.
Paid for a 40 hour week.
Overtime potentially available at enhanced rates.

Job role:
As the Fast Rescue Craft / Marine Engineer, you will be required to carry out repairs to the fast rescue and Daughter craft onboard the fleet of Emergency Response and Rescue vessels and/or in house repair workshops.

Candidate Requirements/Qualifications:

  1. Marine or General Engineering background/qualification.
  2. Good understanding of petrol 2/4 stroke engines or diesel engines.
  3. Knowledge/experience of 12-volt electrics and/or the marine industry.
  4. Computer literate.
  5. Full driving licence.

Duties include (but aren't limited to):
  1. Ensuring all shipboard repairs are carried out in a safe, efficient, and timely manner.
  2. Keeping company approved Planned Maintenance records up to date.
  3. Providing out-of-hours support, as and when required.
  4. Actively promoting and progressing the company QHSE Policies.
