You’ll conduct thorough audits, oversee compliance processes, and provide expert technical guidance to egg producers—ensuring best practices in welfare, sustainability, and quality assurance to protect our brand and reputation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the farm audit team, responsible for carrying out bird welfare inspections and assessing farm compliance in line with Lion Code, RSPCA, and Customer quality standards.
  • Plan and execute audit schedules ensuring timely and comprehensive audits of all farms and escalate risks to the business to determine the best course of action.
  • Provide technical advice and support to egg producers, helping them improve flock health, egg quality and farm performance.
  • Provide training, guidance and support to team members ensuring they are well equipped to assess compliance effectively.
  • Maintain up to date documentation of all audits and produce regular compliance performance reports, highlighting areas of success and opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain Eggbase databases and flock predictions to support efficient supply chain planning.
  • Support and train new poultry producers on industry standards, compliance and best practices.
  • Work cross-functionally with key stakeholders, including operations, transport, and technical teams to drive improvements and reduce risk.
  • Represent Chippindale Foods at industry events and meetings.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Knowledge of the poultry industry, bird welfare, health and safety, and biosecurity practices.
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to work with suppliers to improve standards.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work independently and problem-solve under pressure.
  • Strong IT and data management skills (e.g., using Eggbase).
  • A full UK driving licence (essential for field-based travel).
  • Previous experience in commercial egg production or poultry farming.

In return for your hard work we will offer you:

  • Six weeks holiday (including bank holidays).
  • 15% discount in our stores available from the day you join us.

  • Free parking.
  • Market leading pension and life assurance.
  • Healthcare/Well-being benefits including Aviva Digital GP.
  • Morrisons MyPerks with discounts at high street shops, cinemas and gyms, and lots more.
  • Long Service Awards.
