Job description

An opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager to join a dynamic and forward-thinking manufacturing team to deliver complex manufacturing projects.

Job Title: Manufacturing Project Manager

Salary: Circa £45,000 depending on experience

Location: Bolton

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2-3 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship.

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:

Being a key member of the project management team, you will have the opportunity to lead crucial projects within the manufacturing organisation, collaborate with other team members, challenge the norm and implement change within the organisation.

The role will provide many stimulating challenges, personal development opportunities, and the chance to work both with teams throughout the UK and internationally.

What we're looking for from you:

  • Accomplished Project Manager with a proven track record in the delivery of fixed cost programmes within a matrix organisation.
  • Able to operate effectively in a matrix or cross-functional environment, interfacing and influencing customers and suppliers as well as briefing to senior management level.
  • Experience in management of project scope, identifying deviations and negotiation of changes and their impact on the overall project.
  • An eye for detail, able to identify risks and opportunity trends within cost, schedule, and quality data and able to formulate plans in order to mitigate risk and deliver opportunities.
  • Enthusiastic and pro-active individual who can prioritise objectives as well as manage the day-to-day tactical actions.
  • Able to construct and maintain project plans and familiar with project planning software such as Primavera or Microsoft Project.
  • Experience in the compilation of bids and estimates based on previous products or by working with design and engineering teams on new product definitions.
  • Able to work collaboratively with stakeholders throughout the organisation.
  • Good command of Microsoft packages including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience within an engineering or production environment would be of preference.
