About the Role:

In this crucial position, you ll be responsible for overseeing the operations within a key unit of our client s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. Your main goal will be to deliver the operational plan, drive process improvements, and ensure the highest standards of production. You ll work closely with other managers to share best practices and contribute to site-wide improvement initiatives, all while fostering a positive, safety-focused, and engaging work culture.

What You ll Be Doing:
  • Operational Excellence: Take charge of operational delivery within your unit, ensuring daily plans, KPIs, and audit requirements are met. You ll be accountable for the smooth running of equipment and the overall efficiency of your team.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Liaise with other departments to ensure seamless operational flows, communicating and reacting to any necessary changes swiftly and effectively.
  • Team Development: Lead and inspire your team, ensuring that all members are properly trained, engaged, and empowered to excel in their roles. You ll oversee appraisals, talent management, and performance reviews to ensure continuous growth.
  • Safety & Compliance: Maintain the highest standards of Health and Safety and Food Safety within your unit, ensuring compliance with all regulations and company policies.
  • Cost Management: Keep a close eye on direct labour costs, ensuring they stay in line with budgetary constraints while maintaining high levels of productivity and quality.
  • Culture Building: Create a fun, safe, and motivating culture where your team members enjoy coming to work and understand their critical role in the success of the unit.
What We re Looking For:
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Manufacturing Manager, Operations Manager, Factory Manager, Production Manager, or Department Manager in a food manufacturing environment is essential. You should have a deep understanding of food safety and HSE regulations in the UK.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership qualities with a proven ability to inspire and manage a team, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence within your unit.
  • Technical Knowledge: Experience working with QA and Technical teams to implement and maintain quality control processes, along with a solid grasp of labour management and performance tracking.
  • Behavioural Attributes: A natural leader who can articulate a clear operational vision, make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment, and collaborate effectively with other departments.
