An exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer to join the team in Derby as part of our Aerospace Procurement Business at Rolls Royce.

The Aerospace Procurement organisation is truly global with teams located across the UK and in key overseas regions.

Working as part of a fast paced and challenging business, in this role you will be aligned centrally to the Manufacturing Engineering Industrialisation and Cost team. The procurement Central Manufacturing Engineering function is accountable for the delivery of Manufacturing Engineering activities across a range of suppliers and commodities and driving business critical activities.

Covering all elements of the manufacturing product life cycle, from new product introduction through to mature component cost reduction and improvement programmes, you will have the opportunity to work with and influence world class external suppliers and teams.

What You Will Be Doing

In this exciting role, you will be:

1. Industrialisation: Managing industrialisation plans and cross-category oversight in accordance with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) including development of the enterprise knowledge, skills, use of toolset (Net Inspect and Power BI) and compliance reporting.
2. Collaboration: Proactively accessing internal and external networks of technical communities and functional teams including quality, design and project engineering, to ensure fulfilment and realisation of industrialisation and cost programmes.
3. Product Cost: Proactively supporting and driving technical product cost reduction activities to ensure Category and Aerospace Procurement aligned targets are met, including the engagement of key communities to support idea generation, programme execution, resourcing, funding and reporting.
4. Technology: Provide support to ensure the success of existing and future technology programs within Procurement. Act as a key point of contact for internal category teams, assisting with troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges as they arise.
5. Technical: Ensuring technical barriers to industrialisation are identified, clearly communicated and supporting the direct resolution of issues through technical interventions.
6. Strategy: Supporting, identifying and developing opportunities to deliver key business targets through existing strategies, e.g. Zero Defects quality programme, and support / development of new opportunities.

1. An engineering or other relevant discipline degree/HND/HNC and previous experience working in a manufacturing engineering role.
2. Supply chain experience is preferable ideally with experience of industrialisation and cost reduction programmes.
3. Strong analytical skills and a proven record of using tools and techniques associated with industrialisation and cost reduction.
4. Excellent organisational, communication and presentation skills and feel comfortable presenting to varied audiences.
5. You will be an enthusiastic candidate with a flexible attitude to work and a keen interest in learning and sharing knowledge.
6. Good team working skills and ability to influence are essential.
